Spyware Terminator: http://www.spywareterminator.com/dnl/landing.aspx
Ad-Aware: http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html
Spybot Search&Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Actually, yes, I did say anti-spyware. I have McAffee Viruscan Console, but I downloaded Avast! and I'm much happier with it.

I tried out Spybot Search and Destroy, and I love it! Thanks! That's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. And I love that it doesn't have a higher-grade version that it suggests you upgrade to and pay for all the time.

Are there any downsides to using linux as opposed to Windows?
Like will any of my software even work on it?
And can I install it on my C drive alongside my copy of Windows if I want to try it out?

no you will most likely have to find alternatives, which there are many out there, and most games won't run that well unless you play games from ID because they port their games over to Linux

yes you can dual boot, there are endless amounts of information on the interwebs, google is your best friend
