Default Cant get my Audio GOing....

i formatted mycomputer and its running great and drivers for the net, and video were easy, but i cant get my audio... this computer is a custom build that ghas been formatted before, Its got a GIGabyte motherboard with a driver cd that makes everything simple however when i install the audio driver it says, something about an audio bus, when i install all the drivers as one in the express install it says All driver is installed ok systemw ill reboot, i dont know what happened and why i cant get the audio going but music is my life lol

im sure theres some genius who can at least try adn throw me in the right driection, liek it wont even let me install the drivers completely because something to do with the audio bus, id put the message up but i cant get it to pop up anymore, and still cant get the drivers to install

are you using a sound card or onboard sound?

umm not 2 terrible sure im looking inside my computer and my only pci card is my video card and an optional fan to keep my computer cool, and the video is pci-e but no its not a plug in card its an onboard

if it is an onboard sound, the CD that comes with the motherboard should be able to install the driver for the sound... try downloading the driver from GIGABYTE website maybe the driver in the CD is not updated...

I never use those "easy installers" for drivers. They almost always cause problems. My suggestion would be to go under Device manager, find the "unknown audio device" then manually install the drivers. Typically the INF should be somewhere fairy easy to find, like under a folder Audio/Win2kXP or something like that...

well im not sure how i did it but i got er going, i first updated my bios, and then updated windows (pobly didnt do anything), i think the main problem was the cd, cause i clicked explore cd and there was a driver specifically for a bus (bus driver), then i installed hd audio driver, adn it went, feels good to get er going again..... crappy cd, thanks guys
