IP Address in Ocean near Africa?!?!?!

I am on VIrgin Media and for a while we were having bandwith issues with them, it being exteremly low, all those issues are now sorted but i have one more problem.

My IP Address changed, but not only did it change somewhere different, oh know according to IP Mappers on MySpace, my IP Address is situated somewhere in the sea south-west of Africa.

I have made some of my friends view this and all of them are in our area, its a pain!

Anyone got any ideas?

it's probably just a problem with the software.

But it isnt, the IP addresses in my Part of the world are supposed to start with 82.blah.blah.blah and mine starts with 77.blah.blah.blah im very confused here

Well it sounds to me like you got one of 2 problems. Call your IP provider and ask them to see what info they have on you such as modem type and things like that. My IP actually had the wrong cable modem brand for me and my internet didn't work for a day or 2. I called them up, they changed it back and it was fine.

The other problem could be (and this is a STRETCH) someone is using your bandwidth without your knowledge. I don't think this is likely but it is a possibility.

Looks to me like it is lost... Think it is a coincidnce that is also the location of S00E00? Lat/Lang of zero? It is the center of the earth.
