Default Removing OS

I just got this computer from my friend that I plan on putting FreeBSD on and messing with it. But the problem is that it has Windows Me on it and I tried to use fdisk but I can't get it to create a new partition and delete the one with Windows Me on it. It shows only one primary partition. How do I get Windows Me off it?

Also, which version of FreeBSD is used for servers?

The easy way to remove ME permanently as well as create new partition(s) for FreeBSD is the use of GParted live for cd. http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=173828 The 0.3.3.0 version is the platform independent version to use there. The newer versions are more for experience Linux users due to the start x feature now seen.

Need a program for making bootable cds from iso images? BurnOn has been used here for both Linux install, live distros, and GParted as well. http://www.burnworld.com/burnoncddvd/
