Default just cant do long jump in half-life 1

i just cannot do "long jump" in the half-life 1 !!!!

in the teaching session.......it said "run forward + duck > then jump"

i have done it over million times and just cant do it!!!!

is there any half-life fans can tell me what is going on?? thx

Im assuming you picked up the long jump suite right? And your playing xen? What I just do is hold crouch, then press jump while holding it down. Its been a while since Ive played, but im pretty sure. Good luck, have fun.
