Hi all,
I like to ask a question about RAID. I never use it before so I got no idea.... I'm running XP on a single disk right now but would like to copy the whole image of it to RAID array (RAID 0). Can this be done? I've heard to use Norton Ghost. Is this true? Can Ghost be able to read RAID setup? any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

From what I know about Ghost it will be able to do this. Just make a full image backup on an external or other drive, and then reboot with the restore utility disk and apply the backup to the selected RAID array (assuming you already have it set up and recognized correctly).

Also, what are your reasons for running RAID 0, because you may not need to for what you use your computer for. |

I'm assuming he chose RAID 0 because of performance. Obviously he isnt worried about redundancy/backup/fault tolerance for this drive.

For the normal user you may see a 3% overall system performance increase and the stability of RAID 0 is not worth the risk of your RAID crashing. |
