Tell me if this is good

The hard drive is good, the ram is pretty good, your cpu sucks and your graphics card, while way better than mine, sadly, yes, it still sucks.

Saying that something "sucks" really doesn't get anywhere. His computer, though it won't be lightning fast or able to play recent games, will run most programs just fine. As I said, I have the about the same system and if I had any better components in it it would be a waste of money for what I use that system for. Also, as I already mentioned, the components are well matched - none of them are too fast for the other components (for example, putting a 6800Ultra wouldn't make much sense in that system)

As for Jiffyman - you might want to specify what you're planning on doing with the computer for us to tell you if its "good" or not.

I put it in terms he could understand. He asked if the system was good, good to me is a performance rating in simple terms. If he asked me what the difference was between two components and I said, "your graphics card sucks" that would be a different story. I don't really know what you expect me to answer to a person who asks if his computer is "good" or not, I don't see how I could reply back to that with specs. I didn't mean it as a personal insult to the guy or something.

800MHz is way outdated. The hard drive is good, the ram is decent, the graphics card is very old, you won't be able to play many games on that. Oh, and honestly, who asks if their pc is "good" or not if all they want to do is run programs. Sure people benchmark how fast stuff can be processed but let's get down to it, anybody seeking advice on if their system is good or not and anybody buying new high end pcs want them for gaming or extreme video and graphics editing. Theres really no use for having a PC thats really good other than that.

I understand what you mean, but if you don't have enough info just ask. A lot of people who post questions on this forum don't tell us everything right away and you just have to ask what they want. This forum is to help people and it doesn't help anyone to say that something sucks. Just a thought

There's more to computers than gaming and benchmarking. I would rather check my e-mail on my faster computer...because its faster at loading webpages. I'd rather do my school work/actual work on my main rig, and i'd rather watch DVD's/listen to music/burn CD's on my main computer. If my 866MHz PC could do all that then i'd use that..but it does it at about half the speed if not slower. none of that is really CPU intensive compared to gaming and programming and stuff...but it really makes the difference when i am wondering whether or not i should turn on my old computer or jsut use my main rig.

4W4K3, I totally agree, but if you notice I said High-End. If this guy wasn't into or 3D Graphics or gaming I highly doubt he'd be asking if his video card is good. If he's into gaming or 3D Graphics then his processor is not good.

yes it is pretty slow even for older games, but it'll run Half-Life (what computer wont lol) and some classics. Usually you want a minimum of 1.5GHz.

No i don't have an agp slot on my pc and the worst thing about it is I only have three pci slots so I don't any space for extra cards.

Duddder i suggest you never play a game on that system just do word and IE that is all. Me Being a major gamer you aren't going to run a thing with that, Well anything good at least.
