Default Need to create image and back up system

What freeware program out there will let me back up my system and stick it on a partition just incase something happens I can delete everything and go back to this partition?

there are no freeware applications for imaging for windows that I know of. I do know of setting up open source imaging solutions on like a Linux box.

well what can i use to put everything I have right now like on an external disk or use as a checkpoint to roll back to incase something happens?

Norton ghost, acronis true image, or go with some open source linux solution.
