Hi everyone :-)
Here is the system that I'm planning on building so far: My question is will the RAM i've chosen match up with the Motherboard? Here is something the motherboard specs says: Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets. The RAM is DDR2-667, not 800. Also, I'm not sure if the timing is going to match with the notice aboce. Do I have to move up to this to get it to work? : CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590 $100 Ultra Grid ATX Mid-Tower Case with Front USB and Audio Ports and Ultra V-Series 500-Watt Power Supply http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Tab=0&NoMapp=0 $76 CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145098 $120 ASUS P5B LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131030 $70 Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701 $35 LITE-ON Black 16X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 16X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106046 $150 EVGA 256-P2-N624-AR GeForce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 KO Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130056 $226 Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003 $90 Windows XP http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116056 Price: $867 I plan on using this to play games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and using Solidworks (CAD), and daily tasks. Why you don't get a hard drive with 16MB cache memory ?
