Default hello and please help!

hi, my name is daniel and recently ive been looking into purchasing a new computer. il be using it mostly for gaming but obviously web browsing and college work too. ive pretty much got in mind what my final rig will consist of but i was hoping to maybe get some advice on wether or not my componets are good, or if at all i need them. so here it is..

Processor
INTEL Core 2 Duo E6600 (2 X 2.40GHz)

RAM
2048 MB CORSAIR DDR2 667MHz

Motherboard
ASUS P5ND2 SE: DUAL DDR2, S-ATA, x16 VGA, 2 PCI/3 PCI-E

Operating System
WINDOWS VISTA Home Premium

Graphics Card
512MB GEFORCE 8600GTS

Power Supply & Case Cooling
500W (Peak) Quiet Dual Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan

Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 19 dBA INTEL CPU COOLER

im not too bothered with a sound card at the moment but any advice and sugestions on this system would be very much appreciated

I'd upgrade the video card to a 320MB 8800GTS, even if it means downgrading the CPU to an E6420 to make the budget. A decent PSU will also be required - a generic 500W peak output is less than ideal.

if i got one of those 8800 cards would i be challenging with current ps3 gameplay or could i do that with the 8600gts?

i would think no on that question. But as of right now they are top of the line for graphics.
