Default Dammit here we go, bad stuff now

My PC wont load up, it gets to the point where its about to come up with the Vista Splash screen, with the loading bar, and it dies on me and comes up with the message.

Quote:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
To fix the problem:
  1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
  2. Choose your language settings and then click "Next."
  3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

File:\Windows\System32\drivers\vidstub.sys

Status: 0xc0000221

Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.
THis is like mega bad, i've run the repair 4 times to no avail, i've run a Live Linux disc off me machine to try and fix the file from there but couldnt get to the file

Im about to start reinstalling windows (after me tea which im going to have after this post) dear god if you have any inforamtion please, i really dont want to have to do a reinstall of windows.

I've tried all the safe mode boots and the Last Known Good Configuration boot to let you know, nothing i have tried has worked

Help please!

P.s.: My dad does not have that driver file on his PC but with the same OS

And i recently installed BootSkins and applied a new Skin, i think that might have something to do with it.

I really don't have any idea what could be the problem...

Take the HDD out and put it in your Dad's PC as the slave drive and take any important files you want off it so you have them backed up if you do need to re-format.

THe good thing about my setup is taht i dont have to do that, i partitioned my HDD so taht i had a sector primarily for my OS, and all my otehr files on the other partition, jsut incae anything like this happened, i just odnt have the time at the moment to wait for Windows to install again.

Which im going to have t do, thanks for any one who tried to think of something but couldnt, but the dreaed OS reinstall is what is needed

Just tried to reinstall Vista! And it gets to 0% on Expanding files and gives me crap about a file is missing or corrupt, with the same status as the other one, im thinking its my disc, so now it makes me think tha i didnt even need to reinstall but try it with the other disc, today is not a good day

Just to let you know, my PC is up and running again (faster than before it seems, that wont last long ) It turns out i couldnt repair because my Vista Disc was bust so after using another one it works fine now aftre a full reinstall which i did not need, all is good now.

Now to try OCing
