Default SATA hard drive

Hey. I am trying to install Windows XP on a SATA hard drive, but I need to install the third party controllers before the OS can be installed. I can get to the screen that tells me to insert the floppy disk with the drivers into Drive A:, but the computer does not have an internal floppy drive. I have been trying to use an external USB floppy drive, but it won't recognize it. Is there anyway to install the drivers using the external floppy without having to purchase an internal floppy? Thanks!

Or just talk to a local computer nerd. I'd at least loan you an internal floppy
