Default Can't access computer

Basically, I tried to alter the fan speeds on my laptop using his mod... I've tried it before, and unfortunetly, it's doing the same thing it did previously.

Basically, the computer will boot, which screwed me up as I no longer can use "last known good configuration"! The computer will also boot to Safe Mode. The problem is the touchpad, keyboard, and my external mice will NOT work. I have a backup of the registery as well as a System Restore point made, but I have no way of accessing them...

Is there some way to access System Restore though command or using BartPE? I'd rather not reformat my machine again, but if I must reload, it's not that big of a deal... I loaded windows on it again about 2 days ago, so I'm still in the process of "reloading" everything on it.

You can start the restore gui with this command %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe but I thought you couldn't use the keyboard? You can't access system restore from anything other than booting into windows, even the recovery console (I'm thinking this is what you meant by command) wont work.

Eh, yeah, I guess the recovery console would of worked...or I assume it would of. I booted to BartPE but I couldn't get the system restore to work. Some DLL wasn't loaded. Eh, I just broke down and reloaded Windows on it.Now I just got to find all the drivers...again... Maybe Averatec's site will actually work today.

boot off your windows xp cd and type the following commands in recovery console

Code:
attrib -h c:\boot.ini

attrib -s c:\boot.ini

attrib -r c:\boot.ini

del c:\boot.ini

bootcfg /rebuild (choose yes to rebuild, and add options /noexecute=optin & /fastdetect

chkdsk /r

fixboot
This will rebuild most of the essential files needed to boot up and start windows.
