Default 2000 over Vista on new laptop

I am purchaing a new laptop. All come with Vista. I do not want Vista. Can I install 2000 on the new laptops that come with Vista. If so is there anything that I should know about the procedure? Can I load using upgrade or do I need full version?

Thanks.

You would need the FULL version of windows 2000, i see no reason why you could not install it although i would highly NOT recommend doing so. Why not try to find/purchase a laptop with no OS provided? (saves $)?

if you do that you will have a problem with the mobo drivers i would buy a laptop without o/s that comes with a mobo cd.If vista laptop comes with a mobo cd it might only be compatable with vista.

I would recommend XP over 2000.

I would highly recommend using XP instead of 2000.
