Default broadband speed

hi
just got bt broadband this week have set it up with a ethernet cable connected to the bt hub, however when I check the status of the connection its saying the speed is only 100mpb.s and it should be alot more than that any help in resolving this would be appreciated

why should it be more than that?
first of all this speed has nothing to do with your internet speed, it's your lan speed, Second of all a lot more than that means you should have gigabit connection, do you have any idea about that?

100mbps is normal for fast ethernet cards.

Why are you complaining? 100Mbps is at least 10x faster then your internet anyways.

i have time warners roadrunner highspeed broadband internet connection
which is supposed to be one of the fastest civilian connections out there and it only gets 4719kb/s thats only 4.7mb/s for download speed go back to dial up and tell me how much you appreciate broadband.

That must be for your area, because around here you can get cable internet with 10Mbps and even greater.

well its capable of 8mb/s but i live in dorms at a university with four other guys and four tvs hooked to the cable so it wont run to its full potential and i have it hooked to a router so its not like its slow and im not complaining. i think everyone should go back to dial up then we wouldnt hear any complaints about it. and would appreciate the speed

there are many different factors that can involve speed loss and i have a philosophy if it aint broke dont fix it
