this place is a great resource for learning and getting help http://www.programmingforums.org/ (be mature and intelligent there)

as for books IDK but O'Reilly. http://www.oreilly.com/
I think if you are new to shy away from fat reference manuals and get a intro book, like the practical programming. I guess it depends on how experienced you are
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/pcp3/

keep in mind there are different versions of C, objective, ANSI, C99 , K&R

if you want i have some file that may help. PM for it.
