Default what causes this

been having a slow PC lately, no not any addware or viruses, I dunno maybe it is video related, I have reinstalled the drivers though and still get this.. It has caused one crash as well where everything froze completely and had to reboot by pressing the power button.

it only does it when I am dragging a window over firefox, or internet explorer, so those processes along with explorer.exe go to about 50% CPU usage, though explorer.exe is always has higher CPU usage then FF or IE..

Default Uh Oh

i spy with my little eye something called Smiley Central in your task bar. This little blighter hooks onto your internet browser and is a form of adware and usually does slow the internet right down cause of its monitoring things. a useful link of how to remove it is here
this might fix your problem, but i know it does slow down your computer quite alot.

start -> run -> msconfig -> startup tab -> disable all

reboot and enjoy. that will stop the smiley central program from starting up and hiding in the tray, as well as decrease general start up time for windows.

but that effect you see is just your computer being lagged up by running processes and such. faster computer wouldnt do that. simple.

smiley central I do not have, I have been part of this forum long enough to know about msconfig, nothing in there is checked but my nVIDIA drivers. Also my AVG may look out of date but it is not, thats just the email scanner deactivated, AVG updates every couple of days.

also I got all the scanners talked about in the link bluedishwasher posted, and more!

I am a bit busy now, but when I get time I will completely remove video drivers and reseat vid card, I still think it has something to do with that..

will post back in a few days with results..
