Default How do i do this???????

hi
I had a 200GB Maxtor harddrive, but it died on me 2 week ago so I got a relacement from Maxtor.
My question is that when i first time got my harddrive i had to install the Maxtor MaxBlast 3 to format the harddrive. since now that i am getting a new one. do i need to unistall the Maxtor MaxBlast 3 and install the harddrive and reinstall the Maxtor MaxBlast 3 agian? or do i just pop in the harddrive and format it with the Maxtor MaxBlast 3 with out reinstall it?

a generic format should work. no need to install maxtors software unless it has any other useful features.

Formatting from windows is advised as DOS formatting superjumbo drives tends not to be so pretty
