Sadly you gotta buy a new OS disk from windows.

1. Posting/discussion about software cracks, serial no's, and illegal downloading and duplication of software is prohibited.

if you need a reload and have the xp sticker on your case you can take it to your local repair shop and they can reload it for you

Find someone that has the same type of XP PRO cd that you had(OEM, Upgrade, or Full version) and make a copy of that disk for yourself. You can make copies of the CD. You only need to make sure that you use your own CD key when installing. In fact, make a couple copies and put them away for safe keeping.

I believe, but I'm not 100% sure that you can find a Windows XP Disc that is the EXACT same type your computer has (XP Pro, Home, etc....). And then use the license # on the Certificate of Authenticity sticker on your computer.

i know with 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, ME the license key was unique to the disc (you had to have the RIGHT cd-key for that specific disc.)

I don't know if xp is like that or not. I've luckily never had such a problem.

The keys are valid as long as its the same type of disc, whether its the upgrade, oem, or full versions. You can't use the key for an oem on an upgrade disc. Windows 98 was the same way. As long as you had a copy of the exact same disc that you used to install windows with your original key then it would work.
