yeh cool technology, I recall seeing an article about it a while ago in a newspaper. the article was actually focused on having electronic newspapers that would be flexible, so much so that you could easily roll it up and pack it away.

i can see these being used as advertising boards in the future, and there were talks of small screens on cans of beans and stuff that play ads and stuff.

i don't understand if they're trying to make it disposable (ads/magazines are distributed on them)

or if they're going to be updateable (you can install your OWN magazines, etc. onto them, to take them with you?)

sounds like they store the data onboard somehow, rather than being a constantly refreshed screen.

It's really exciting stuff they're thinking up these days. I can see this being implemented in visual steath technology in the future, like the Bond car in Die Another Day. Coat a vehicle with this stuff, and have little cameras on the other side feeding the image. But then I'm probably dreaming.

they could pretty easily make a demo vehicle with a box truck, where the entire side is an lcd screen, and has cameras on the other side.

I wonder how many accidents that would cause.

I reckon we'll see them on the London Tube soon enough. Replacing the traditional posters track-side.
