Default DON'T get Vista!!! too many problems on it

Ive got an Acer Aspire 5630 a few weeks ago with Vista already installed.
I had 2 different error messages come up.

When I go to play Oblivion I get:
"Oblivion has stopped working" then "Oblivion needs to shut down" (or something like that)

Then when I downloaded MSN messenger, when I go to open that I get a similar message:
"MSN Messenger has stopped working".

Ive managed to get past both of these.
Oblivion - I downloaded a thing called Oldblivion that loads Oblivion
MSN Messenger - Right click on it and click "Run as administrator" which lets it work fine

But now (started a few days ago) ALL the time my laptop is on (from the moment Ive logged in and got to the desktop) I get a message come up saying:
"Windows Explorer has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..."
Then another message says:
"Windows is restarting..."
Then my screen will flash and after about 3-5 seconds the messages start again and seem to be on a loop.
I wouldn't mind so much if that was all it done but when the screen flashes, most programs that were opening / open close. Norton Internet security can stay open and so can Internet Explorer but most other things close. And 3-5 seconds isn't really alot of time to do something

Help please

Yes yes... If you search the forum you aren't the first person to post a thread hating Vista...
