Default usb printer

i bought an usb printer (epson c46)
i install the printer and it configurates 2 printer port1, it wont find the usb port, i tried 2 do it manually but the port doesnt appear in the selection ports

does any1 kno y this is happenin.

Does your PC makes a tone when you connect the usb ?
Did you remove the old printer files?
It may be that you have not set the new printer as your default printer.

Could also be his USB ports arent setup, Either in Bios or with drivers...

it works with other hardware but not with the printer

how would i kno if it was the bios or not?

Have you made sure it isn't the cable? I've had bad USB cables before.

when i set mine up, it did say to "disable any antivirus software you have running" the first time i didn't think it would matter and ran into same problem as you.- so i disabled it the 2nd time and install went through perfectly.

How new is your computer? That printer is USB 1.1 and not 2.0. Most devices are backwards compatible, but not all, my guess would be that this is one of them... Just a question? How much did you pay for it? I hope not more than $20, cause that printer is about 3 or 4 years old...

If it's a USB printer, it's easy. Just go to Start, Printers and Faxes, Right click on the printer, Properties, Ports tab, and then check USB001
