Most popups are generated by scripts on web sites themselves while some will hide a generator on the drive of some type. Having a good popup blocker is the usual best tool for the constant annoyances. Using Realtek onboard sound I see. The first and only big offender is always a little to get rid of.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE

A few other items you can use HT to fix are software related like Cyberlink. These are minor in comparison to the first seen. If you have any Cyberlink PowerDirector, PowerProducer, or PowerDVD installed the next four here are safe to leave alone.

C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\TV\CLCapSvc.exe

C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\CLML_NTService\CLMLServer.exe

C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\CLML_NTService\CLMLService.exe

C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer Arcade\Kernel\TV\CLSched.exe

Those generally belong to a tv tuner software. The next few are also minor but these should be fixed.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: @xpsp3res.dll,-20001 - {e2e2dd38-d088-4134-82b7-f2ba38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe (file missing)

Overall you have less items to fix despite a larger amount of values seen in the log there. Besides a run of a good registry cleaner you may want to run a pair of excellent freewares for finding and removing data miners and other crap as wel. Having noticed AVG there Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spyware Terminator work great together along with AVG. One finds what the other misses back and forth between those two.

Spyware Terminator also has a form of mild firewall builtin and can be found at http://www.spywareterminator.com/ For Lavasoft's latest release of Ad-Aware SE Personal go to http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/...e_personal.php

Lately some site is now trying to sell the always freeware RegCleaner under RegSupreme or something similar to that for a price. The original RegCleaner has always been strictly a "free registry tool" but suddenly the links for the freeware version and not this other crap are becoming smaller. To avoid getting lost trying to find the free version I'll give you two links for the freeware.

The first one here also has a screen shot available for the version there at http://www.majorgeeks.com/download460.html At the second link here it just happens to have been the "download of the week" at http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-dow...cleaner4.3.htm

The automatic cleaning tool is one thing people get confused about when first going to it since the main window is more for manual removal of entire registry keys and not loose and now obsolete clutter left over from incomplete software uninstallers and other things. The "tools>registry cleanup>do them all" option does everything in one click. That will be on the menu bar at the top. And one thing to note is that it only creatss a desktop shortcut and no new entries in the registry itself. It even works on Vista so far.

Ah haa. I just found the home page again for the 4.0 version where you can read everything on it at http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/regcleaner.htm

What do these popups look like?

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

If you don't still have a popup generator on there somewhere you will still have to contend with some popup ads while surfing the web. Even with IE 7's improved security over 6.0 you may end up setting the security open of not allowing any other windows to open.

That will mean disabling the ability to open a product page on a link someone posts here. Other tactics sites now use is having code for ads imbedded right into the pages themselves. Everybody gets a little hot under the collar on seeing those. ggggrrrr....!!!

The best spyware app I have found is Spybot (it's free too). It killed some popups that I was getting.

Ad-Aware SE Personal free edition by Lavasoft and the more recent Spyware Terminator also a freeware with a mild firewall will also clean a few adbots as well. But if there's a popup generator or a trojan you never count on just one. Despite the onboard protection you'll still see come up due to scripts designed into site themselves. IE 7 at least offers an option to block any not just ad windows from coming up. That helps a great deal but even that is limited at times.

Its a Vundo, I think... I dont think SE Personal will detect it anyways because its not considered as a virus
EDIT: Vundo is a annoying pest that attacks your IE and gives you pop-ups...... I think most common Vundo is WinAntivirus, which is a bit annoying because you get the WinAntivirus ADs every time you go on a new site....
