Default hhd format

I just bought a new 80gb hard drive to add to my dell deminsion 4600 which already had an 80gb hard drive in it. When I go into disk management, it shows disk 0 as my original hdd and it is partitioned into several segments by NTFS and FAT the new hdd is shown as disk 1 and that it is unallocated. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can actually use my new hard drive?
