Default Looking For Programs

I am looking for 2 programs. Any recommendations?

1 - something I can create a basic database in. I want to catalogue all my CDs and DVDs so I want to create one database for each. I just want something simple so I can make fields like Artist, Album, Year, WAV, MP3, etc.

2 - something I can use to search and rename files. This could be 2 separate programs or one combined it doesn't matter. But I need to be able to search for certain things in the name/content of a file (like a certain word in a .txt/.log file or in its name), search different file types, etc.

In terms of renaming only...
RenameMaster is pretty handy and very flexible. It is freeware: http://www.joejoesoft.com/vcms/108/

As far as the other parts, I agree with Shady. And if you want, you can check out Effective File Search (EFS) instead of Windows Search.

@Shady: did you mean Windows Desktop Search or just regular windows search assistant? WDS is good, but I feel it takes up too many resources continuously keeping track of all files and that can be annoying at times. However, the search itself is therefore really fast and practical.

My personal choice for databases is OpenOffice Base. Similar to Access, except it doesn't come with the hefty price ... free is a price I can afford
