Next time, could you please not spread your post out so much?
OK, so I did a little research on the Audigy upgrade and got stuck between two solutions. Some people say it's simply software, others say it's a "booster" chip that still relies on the original sound processor... Regardless, realize the sound is going to be no better than the speakers. I looked around and most people seemed about as pleased with the 9400's speakers as the XPS's speakers. In other words, they are probably the same, just as the laptops are basically identical.

The Audigy is nothing more then a software pack. I looked at it for my laptop, and all your paying for is the Audigy program and drivers, the actual sound chip is the same. But it does add CMSS 3-D, as well as some other cool features.

wow
u pointed out something important . i am a photographer - i show people my work as music picture slideshow.s do u think, that the feathures on the audigy software may come in use opposed to the standard one with 9400? will i get things like echo and delay that kind thing? is nothing more then a software pack. I looked at it for my laptop, and all your paying for is the Audigy program and drivers, the actual sound chip is the same. But it does add CMSS 3-D, as well as some other cool features.[/quote] |
