Default Is this possible to charge this way?

I have a dell inspion e1705 laptop. I was looking for a smaller charger that is easier to carry around. Is it possible to plug a usb connection from my laptop into the usb connection of a desktop? Or is there a way to get a smaller charger for this laptop? Thank you in advance for all of your help.

I don't think you can charge a laptop through USB!!! Or is this a new feature, I highly doubt it.

I'm not sure of any alternative way of charging your laptop with out carrying some sort of power converter (the brick). And is the brick really that heavy?

I'm pretty sure there's no other way to charge your laptop besides from the power brick, you're gonna have to take it around. However, if you're just going between two locations, you can always buy another brick and leave it there (if it's like an office or something).
