A bit more info as always is helpfull :-).. Does it beep continues until you reboot? what do you do with your computer b4 it starts to beep (if anything)?, Will it just start beeping right after startup? or is it beeping durring post?
Does it beep when Dinner is ready? because if it does then that's just cool :-).

What kind of beeps are these? (long, short etc). Also helps to know the hardware involved

What hardware do you have? (motherboard, processors, etc the system hardware)

It really depends on where you purchase it I suppose but check local computer shops. I'm in Canada myself and could only quote Canadian Prices from the top of my head but I can find a stick in a local shope for around $45 Canadian dollers (depending on Manufacturer)
Edit: Try to pair up the sticks the best you can. And although I dunno if this would fix your beeping problems and probably wont I just suggested the upgrade as You really need at least 512mb's for the things your using your machine for.
