refresher

I am currently looking to buy a good notebook to travel with that can handle most games. I'll say right now I don't know if I should buy XP/Vista for it (help on that? ). I know about computers fairly well (which is never enough ) but I want to make sure I am getting the best I can get, since this will be the first computer I've hand made (somewhat).

First, my price range is about 1,000 usd to 2500 usd (ish).

I'm not good with picking out individual pieces for a computer and I used IBuyPower.com to create a notebook and I will most likely go with it unless I know of something better.
