I have the Windows Firewall with Vista but I also have Norton Internet Security. It appears that the Norton firewall shuts down the Defender firewall and tends to dominate in the firewall wars going on behind the scenes. Obviously,I could have one, both or none of them on at any given time.
I have no idea which one is better or why. Which one should I be using? Thanks. |

Disable the Window firewall and dump Norton for a good one like Commodo or Jetico which are both freewares. The two work well on XP while still needing some review with Vista depending on the version of Windows you are running.
Jetico is an older one of the two good for 98, ME, 2000, and XP found at http://www.jetico.com/index.htm#/jpfirewall.htm Commodo's home page is seen at http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
