Default Any Suggestions???

Im trying to repair this HP comp. it wont boot up Xp. it starts shows the HP logo but after that the screen turns black. the computer is still on but i get no display. if any1 has any suggestions please help

Are you able to boot off of a CD? Reinstalling Windows might fix it.

Havent tried it but that was wat i was leaning into doing. cuz my main pc runs off windows media center but the junker im trying to fix now is using Xp home.does it make a difference if i use my media cd

Yes you can use your XP MCE CD to boot from. It doesnt matter if the computer had Linux or Win98, it can still read the XP MCE disc.
