Okay i am not a professional at this but i am going to give you a brief description! i will give you a image in a sec.. all you have to do is aply a small dap near the top of the processor. take out a credit card or buisness card (anything thats flat and strudy) push down and sand smear it across the processor. Lift the card then use your finger to make sure its a even coat.. make sure there that you only but it on the core.. Basically the silver part of the proccessor and not the green.

If you search google for "how to's" on applying thermal paste, you'll find all kinds of methods and guidelines. I've heard pea sized globs but that also could be refering to some older processors with a larger surface area.

The time I've done it, I apply about enough to cover the surface(nothing shows through) Perhaps it's a bit skimpy, but applying too much will cause it to overheat as well.

The cover for the CPU's is the same so it doesn't matter between the Quad and dual core instructions.

Alittle more than a grain of rice, spread it thin over the cpus shield with a credit card. Its only to fill in the imperfections between the heat sink and the cpu shield. (Do not use so much that you have a layer between the two)
