Default Lost PW?

My friend approached me today telling me that he forgot his pw to his computer and now he can't get in to it. I told him if he had the OS disk I could just reinstall it for him since it's the first time he had used. But he bought the computer online and the only thing they sent him disk-wise was a "Windows Anytime Upgrade" disk. I don't think this is the OS disk, but I'm not sure either. Does anyone know how to get the pw reset? Thanks in advance.

Well, were not exactly allowed to tell you how to get the password, it's against forum policy. Jacen probably didn't know that because he probably didn't read the rules, but for all we know you could have just taken someones PC and trying to get into it, ya know what I mean? Anyway, do some searching on google, I know for a fact theres information out there.

As for the CD you have, see what happens when you put the CD in, it might be a reinstallation CD. Have the system boot up from the CD and see if it's got the Windows setup in there. If it does, go for the reinstall if that's what you want to do. Personally I think that's a pain just to change the password, so I'd do other methods, but like I said, I can't exactly talk about that here. Do some research on google. =D

I'm pretty positive with an anytime upgrade CD you have the option to reformat. My friend had a virus on his laptop and only had an anytime upgrade CD and he re-installed Vista that way...give it a try
