Default double xp, then dual boot?

i build ther rig in my sig with 2 320gb hdds, both partitioned 30/290 each and loaded xp on my first drive,30gb partition, i have an upgrade version of vista homer premium, so i can not just install vista on my second drive right? i have to upgrade an exisiting xp os, so can i reload xp on my second drive then upgrade it so i keep my first drive and xp untouched and run a dual boot system?

dude am confused i see 2 Hard drives @ 320GB each with XP. (loaded on the first) so the other partition is empty ?
make your life easier and do this

re-partition the 2nd HD like 80/240 so vista will use the 80 and 240 for data.
so you can leave the 1st hard drive untouched to 30/290 with XP.

in any case that way you can dual boot vista and xp while you can access your data on the other partitions

Default done

well i found a link on how to load an upgrade as a full version so i din't have to load xp first then upgrade to vista. it is pretty easy all you do is load vista and when it asks for your authentication key just do not enter anything and click next and continue to load vista, after loaded reboot and when in Vista put in vista Dvd and reload vista again this time entering your auth. key. i forget where the link is/was, sorry. I now have a dual boot sys. with xp on the first partition of my 1st hdd(30gb-290gb) and vista on the 2nd drive also first partition(30gb-290gb). I am very happy with Vista home premium so far, it seems extremely fast, when loading or uninstalling programs it seems at least twice as fast as xp. we'll see what the future brings....
