I have a .iso file that contains important stuff i need. I tried burning the image to cd but there was nothing that burned on the cd and when i try to use power iso i get the error "The file format is invalid or unsupportable"

Anyone know another good program i can use?

With PowerIso at your clock you will see the cd icon, right click and "mount image" were it says Drive [K:] and select the iso file and see if that works.

irfanview

Ive had more success with burnoncddvd, but irfanview works well too.

Have you tried Nero burning Rom? Its the best one out there I think. You can also use Alcohol 120% as well.

DeepBurner is also very good for creating a bootable disk from an ISO.

if that file is really a .iso, mount it with nero imagedrive, extract the content and burn it as data cd only to avoid all the headaches with iso's.
If you want to burn it str8 away as ISO use Nero.

i use powerIso and magicIso if one fails i use the other but i've never encountered this error.

You can also try opening it with Winrar and extracting the contents. Then burn them as regular data on a cd.
