Default Asus A7v8x

I have this problem in my souncard of this motherboard,it has no sound comin out after a I reformat it from WIN98 to WINXP pro,I already downloaded the drivers at asus website but still there is an error code,still totally no sound comin out in that built in sound card of mine,,,help please...thanx

Sometimes manually installing the drivers works better than the included installers...

Go to device manager, find your soundcard, go to properties, update drivers, direct it to the drivers you downloaded. There should be a folder with .inf files in it.

What does the device manager say? Any yellow icons next to your sound device?
