I have an HP Pavilion 510n, 1.2 ghz celeron, 512 mb sdram and am currently using a GeForce 2 mx/mx 400 PCI ( I don't have an AGP slot ) 64 mb video card. Some of the games my kids use on the system are RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, Sims 2 and Unreal Tournament. My question is would I see much improvement in switching to a 128mb or 256mb video card or should I just start shopping for a new PC?

I would suggest getting a new computer, or go for a cheaper card because PCI's don't have a very big selection of video cards, and aren't as good as AGP's (I think). There is a thread where someone posted a link for a Nvidia 5700 (I can't seem to find it, and may be an LE). You could get that, its a pretty good card.

I would also suggest in just getting a new computer. You can build computers your self for fairly cheap and im sure you could get a bunch of help on this site if you needed. You can for sure keep that processor (1.2 ghz isnt horrible) but get a new motherboard, gfx card (I would suggest straying away from any MX series card, go with FX) and the 512mb ram isnt bad, but if you get a new motherboard that takes DDR i would suggest getting 512mb of the pc 2700 ddr ram (it is fairly cheap now.... like $60 or so for 512 mb)

Definitely scrap this box and put together a new setup because anything with PCI being the only graphical interface is dead old and wont upgrade far
