LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-812S

Any links? I've checked driverguide.com and tried automatically updating it through windows updater.

I'm nearly tearing my hair out over these drivers :/

You dont need drivers for a Liteon burner, you talking about updating the firmware

I just need something, I've gotten myself in a pickle and basically my computer is telling me I don't have a DVD-Rom installed anymore :/

I tried downloading the firmware from http://us.liteonit.com/us/index.php?...pper&Itemid=75 but nothing, it says I don't have the drive and it can't detect any drives.

Did it just disappear from My Computer or is this a new drive that never showed up, if so do you have the jumpers set right Master/Slave

It's no longer showing up in My computer, Basically this is what I posted in yahoo questions about it.... Hope it makes sense.

So in other words you updated your sound drivers, everything went to hell, did a System restore point a few days before it happed, then lost your cd drives

. Thats a wild one. Your IDE controllers drivers might have got corrupted when you did a Systen restore. I would probably reinstall my motherboard chipset driver first to see if that works.

I've been working on it via messenger with a friend and we've basically already tried that, I really have screwed myself over with it. I can try and re-install it again.

I'll check again tomorrow for more replies on what to do, I'm going to sleep! Thanks for the help so far, I just hope I can get this solved and not have to resort to losing EVERYTHING and having to reformat.
