OK, I would like a cut clear definition of what is allowed and what is not allowed. Torrents and P2P is not illegal at all, except when you use it to violate copyright law. Open source software which is free is distributed this way. Limewire is the biggest piece of crap software anyway. In fact anyone who uses it I wouldn't even bother helping because they are at a huge security risk running it, not to mention that it is filled with spyware and viruses.

Networking, port forwarding, I think you cleared this up. I need to access my PC at home from work via remote desktop. Well, you'll need to forward port 3389 to your PC from your router or it won't work. This type of stuff is OK is what I am getting.

However, what is to stop someone from just making things up to get what they need to know? I admire the fact you are actually trying to up hold the rules, but in all honesty I don't think it will stop those discussions. So it basically comes down to how the moderators interpret the conversation. Which is fine by me, and they don't get paid for this so I think its fine.
