I have a 2.13 Gig AMD Athlon XP with 256 MB of memory and I want to add 512 MB of memory.
The Belarc advisor tells me that slot `AO` has 256 MB and slot `A1` is empty. I went to the Crucial site and they said I need a CT 360812 DDR 2700 CL= 2.5 NON- ECC UNBUFFERED . This is a 184 Pin DIMM Module. Crucial says this computer can handle up to 1024 MB of memory. My question is When I search for this do I look for this exact module or is there any latitude? What about brand names.? Are generics ok ? I have a gift certificate at Amazon and it is getting some age on it and I would like to use it. But I can not locate the exact same thing on their site. There was one that was close but not identical and that is the reason for my question. Thank you, LeRoy M |

Crucial is recommending Crucial RAM (naturally), any PC2700 module will work for you so don't worry about locating the exact match

Thanks for the quick answer, So this one on Amazon will work for me? What does the 64X64 mean? I hate to keep asking questions but I also hate to return stuff.
Crucial Technology 64X64 512MB DDR 184PIN PC2700 Thanks again, LeRoy |

Yes that one will work. 64x64 must be a typo. That RAM will probably be 8x64 (8 chips 64MB in size, making it a stick of 512MB)
