Angry Freeware Program spybot = No internet

Hey folks,

Im trying to fix a friends computer and it appears the computer had a ton of spyware etc. So i downloaded {Spybot-search and destroy} and after it did its "thing" now i cannot get the comp to connect to the internet. Im not sure if it matters but it connects via a PCI wirless Card @ 54mbps. The thing that throw me for a loop is it shows a signal strength of "full bars" yet says "limited or No connectivity"

soooo any ideas!!!!!????

Try a connection repair. Sometimes doing that(or just a release/renew of the IP address) will fix the problem. And you didn't specify, but did Spybot's "thing" find spyware?

Hey "other one" to answer your questions...

1. Yes i tried a connection repair to no avail
2. the other odd thing whenever you asked it to find "signals" (even when it worked) it always said "none available"
3. Yes it did, the computers memory usage dropped from over 4-500 to 205mb and this was recorded at idle {the machine only has 1 stick of 256mb of pc2100)

Sometimes Windows will say "none available" when it's already connected meaning it's not going to show the network it's already connected to. I've had this happen to me a few times.

Anyway, is your network set up for DHCP? If it's not then that would explain your no connectivity. If this is the case, find out your IP and just assign it to your wireless card.
