Default CS:S with quad core cpu or dual core

I was wondering if any of you use the quad core cpus to play source. And if so, how would you rate the performance of the cpu vs the dual core. I am building a new system but cant decide between the e6600 vs q6600. I know the C2Ds are better for games.

Where is the other thread?

Anyway, CSS is not demanding game, I used to play it on a P4 2.4Ghz, so whether it be dual or quad it would be the same. If you are building a new system I would definitely go for a quad core CPU to future proof it.

Yea if thats your only goal for this PC go dual-core...it will be able to play any game coming out for the next few.
Q-core tho is a good investment since sooner or later they will be the "must have" cpu.

All depends on how much you wanna spend.
