Default P35 motherboard

Can you run a single Nvidia card on the P35 or must it be a ATI and is there such a board that uses only one card.

You can run a single nVidia card, same with using an ATI card on an SLI motherboard. You just can't run two of them in SLI.

I'm thinking this may be the way to go then or I could sell my Nvidia cards and buy ATI cards. How do they perform or would I be just as well off to run one good card? I'm looking at maybe trying to future proof my system and be able to upgrade cpu and memory as it comes out ( 1333mhz cpu and DDR3 memory.)

Not all P35 motherboards have DDR3 slots, only some.

When are you going to build your PC?
The DDR3 RAM is too expensive

I'm going to build in the next few weeks . Waiting for the Q6600 prices to drop. I would like to go ahead and order my Mobo and memory asap. If there is not that much performace gain between the 680I and the P35 then I'll order this board ( Asus P5N32-E SLI nForce 680i SLI Socket 775 1333MHz DDR2-800 and this memory Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX Twin2X Dual-Channel Memory Kits .) What do you guys think?
