Hey guys,

I just posted this in the "PS3vs.360vs.Wii" thread but I kinda need a quick answer to my problem.

My Premium 360 just encountered the red ring of death and my warranty expired in 2 weeks. I have already sent off the console to be repaired by Microsoft but from the sound of it, this may not fix problem, and if it breaks again, I will be out of warranty and will need to pay $140 to get it fixed again. Here's what I'm planning on doing in the next 3 hours...

I am going to buy a brand new 360 Core system and put my old hdd in, component cables, and hook up my wireless controller to it to make it a "Premium" console. I am then going to wait for my console, which I'm guessing will be refurbished, and trade it in to get some store credit. I will then use the credit to purchase Halo 3 and COD 4 when they come out because I already have them reserved.

The way I look at it, I'm getting a new console with a new warranty, and I will be getting the games I reserved for "free" with my trade in store credit.

Does this sound completely insane to anyone else, or does this sound like something I should do??
