Last night it just stopped working for some reason...
The adapter light is green, the hard drive turns on, but it just popped a error: Unknown Device. After reconnecting the hard drive this time it didn't show the message, but still didn't work... I saved a load of music and other multimedia files, that I HEAVILY invested my time in. I would be much appreciated if someone found me the right solution. Thanks.

I would try plugging it into another system as a slave drive and extract the data (if possible) that way.

I beleive Seagate has really gone down hill, as many other drives have... As mentioned, try taking it out of the enclosure and using it internally. Maybe just the enclosure/USB to IDE converter died.

Western Digital is really dominating the Hard Drive business along with Maxtor, but I have never used a Seagate hard drive, I have always used Western Digital. I have never had a problem with Hard Drive failure.
