Help Me Understand!

help me understand why i have never downloaded past 40 kbps. I have changed the speed from 20 kbps, but now 40 kbps isn't enough. I have a program that downloads at 116 kbps(many files at a time) but when i use other programs and download many at a time it never goes beyond 40 kTops! I have checked my dl speed and its at 316 kbps and my up speeds are 115 kbps. My halo games are all laggy

(( Can anyone tell me how to get more download speeds! please i must know!

The download speed also depends on what the server on the other end will allow you to download from them at.

Yeah it does seem to be a problem with the remote server you are downloading from. I have a 4Mbit line but often I download at speeds below 100KB/s. The max I ever achieved was 520KB/s from a Czech game server. Ok now to the lag...check what ping you have in games. I would also check for spyware and adware just in case. I would also shut down all file sharinf software because that could be what's causing these problems.
