Default q6600 or e6850?

I wanna get one of these for the price drop but im not sure which and it would help alot if you could put the reason of why you put that answer.

Thanks,
Lunch

I do occasionally use alot of apps and i do play the average first person shooter.

A quad would last you longer.

I'd say quad as well, especially if you plan to keep it for a while.

yeah, but by the time the quad utilizing programs come out, there will be bigger requirements and better processors. I say E6850

ok i get your plan lol. upgrade a little now, and a lot later right? but what if the eight cores are gonna be obsolete in a little while? omg what to do... get te quad core they ARE more future-proff then the dual cores, quads are gonna be around far after these dualies are long and gone

Why would he go ahead an upgrade to either one? The E6600 will last about another year before obsolete. I didn't see he had an E6600, I would wait until the Yorkfield(is that it) Quads come out.
