CSS Audio Problem

I recently installed a new sound card.
It works great.
I went to play CSS and it wont play the gun shots or music. I listen to music from itunes while I play.

What to do?

may seem a stupid question but you did remove any old sound drivers and install the new right?

you would be suprised by the amount of people who dont

but if its only in cs that you dont get sound thats wierd.

did you disable onboard audio?...in the bios?

Reinstall it... CS:S has a lot of bugs... lately, my nav map disapeared, I had to uninstall the WHOLE game+Steam to get it back...

Oh, I used to have this problem... I think... make sure that the audio from CSS loads before you load itunes or whatever you listen to music with. Start CSS and start playing before playing music.... I believe thats the problem but I can't promise.

Edit: that might only be with ventrilo, i had problems hearing the audio if I started ventrilo first

It also says my video card is out of date, but I went to Nvidia's site and downloaded the latest driver, and installed it.
