Default does readyboost really work well?

Knowing that my laptops 1gb memory is the minimum for aero vista, not basic vista, i plan to buy a 1gb usb flash stick, to use this "readyboost". Does it really work?

Wow, that sounds cool. I've never noticed the "speed up my system" option. I'll give it a try, and tell you how it goes (though I have 2gb of ram, so I doubt I'll notice any difference).

Edit: Awww, my Flash drive isn't fast enough to meet the requirements

it will still work just force it rightclick the stick and go readyboot and enable the device and use all the space. it will kick in whenever you're using over 70 percent of your ram. so it is really only useful for people with not too much ram.
