Default New Icons from HL2

I installed HL2, now I have icons on my desktop named "Source SDK Base" and "Source SDK". I am just wondering, what are these?

Thanks

They are the programs for creating levels and models for the source engine if you don't need or want them then you can uninstall them in the "tools" tab in your Steam account.

But I do believe that the Jobs name and the Macintosh apple with a chunk out of it could sell wet wood to someone trying to start a fire these days.

That's odd. The SDK stuff isn't standard, you have to install it manually through Steam. . Maybe you checked a box during the installation process.

OMG...I started playing HL2 and got to "Route Kanal", I got to the part where you have to build up friggin barrels underwater to get into a pipe, to get to the other side. I am not doing that I gave up after 30min of trying. THIS IS AN FPS, NOT A FRIGGIN STRATEGY!!!

Omg. You're telling me you can't grab three barrels and pull them underwater to raise the ramp? So lazy..

There was no ramp, you had to stack them I couldn't find a place to turn them upright....

On that little piece that wobbles, on the side that ia in the water, look under in (under the water). There should be an upside down cage. Grab each barrel individually and put them under the cage. Once u put all the bottles under it, the ramp will raise enough to let your air boat pass.

Half life2, the thinking mans game.

Seriously, took me 30 seconds the first try. Its no hard. There is a HUGE net you put them in, and three tiny barrels. Shoot if you thought that was hard...

Anywho, ya, the SDK contains hammer and other tools that let you create levels/screw around with the source engine. Get gmod, its a must if you play around in the SDK.

I think he means the bit where you turn the valve and water floods the next room. Then you have to go underwater to release a bunch of debrees before resurfacing and trying to hop across the gap using the floating barrels and such as platforms.

Either that or it is the bit with the floaty ramp in which case I should inform you that the pipe opening on the left is not where you need to go. You can reach that spot via another opening. It's the ramp that you should be worrying about. Drag the barrles down, put them under it and it moves up allowing you to jump it in the boat.
